Anderson Entrance

Gallery 11 is the original entrance to the residence when it belonged to the Andersons.

Gallery 11 is the original front door to the hacienda that was given to the museum by Claude and Elizabeth Anderson. Here on the inside stoop or threshold is a series of carved initials dating from a dinner party in 1950 held by the Andersons.  They include the Andersons, several of the workmen who built the house, Millicent Rogers and Frieda Lawrence (widow of D.H. Lawrence).

Installed in this room are several examples of sculpture from the museum's permanent collection including a notable alabaster figure by Taos Pueblo artist John Suazo.
